The MADW Sue Shelton White Scholarship

(for non-traditional women students)

Sue Shelton White, Jackson native and suffragist, was instrumental in the passing of the 19th Amendment in 1929, giving U.S. women the constitutional right to vote. The Madison Area Democratic Women are honoring her memory with a $2,500 scholarship award to a "non-traditional" woman student, perhaps returning to study while working or raising children.
